Congratulations to our Technical Scholarship Recipient Eric Barta

Eric Barta

We are happy to announce Eric Barta, a Lakeview Technical School graduate, as our first recipient of the Halpin Technical Scholarship.

This scholarship is for graduating high school seniors in Kenosha County that are pursuing a technical degree. Eric is seeking an IT-Security Analyst degree.

A little more about Eric:

  • As a sophomore in 2012, he placed first at the Skills USA Wisconsin Challenge in Madison with CAD 3-D Animation
  • 2013 – 3rd Place Computer Maintenance
  • 2014 – 1st Place Electronics Tech
  • 2014 – 1st PlaceComputer Maintenance
  • He will be competing at the nationals competition this summer (2014)

 

Congratulations to our Technical Scholarship Recipient Cory Trossen

We are happy to announce Cory Trossen, a Case HS 2014 graduate as our 1st recipient of the Halpin Technical Scholarship.

This scholarship is for graduating HS seniors in Racine county that are pursuing a technical degree. Cory is seeking an Industrial Mechanical Associate Degree at Gateway Technical College in Racine.

A little more about Cory:

  • Born and raised in Racine with 2 siblings.
  • Grew up working on cars and repairing things with a passion for designing and constructing items that people use in their daily lives.
  • Took Industrial shop classes all 4 years at Case including welding, team welding, milling, lathe operation and setup as well as a basic programming class.
  • Completed 2 CNC courses through Case’s Youth Options program, competed and placed 3rd at Skills USA Challenge and currently works a part time internship at Modine.

 

At Halpin Personnel we receive quite a bit of interest and requests from our clients looking for skilled labor to hire on permanently for their companies. These are wellpaying positions that offer not just a career but a chance to support a family. Our goal is to partner with local businesses to educate and offer high school students opportunitiesto pursue a technical career path. Gateway and MATC offer a solid academic curriculum for careers. We are striving to find a way to bridge this gap and put more emphasis on the importance of the technical career opportunities that are available.
