Grace & Frankie  

Starring: Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Martin Sheen, Sam Waterston

In this Emmy-nominated series, Grace (Fonda) and Frankie (Tomlin) have their lives turned upside down when their husbands leave them for each other. Proper Grace, a retired cosmetics mogul, and eccentric Frankie, a hippie art teacher, have never particularly liked each other. However, circumstances force them to bond and to cope with difficulties together.    

Love is Blind  

Starring: Nick Lachey, Vanessa Lachey  

Format: Competition Reality-TV  

Number of Episodes: 10 plus a reunion special   

Rating: TV-MA  

Nick and Vanessa Lachey host this dating reality television show for thirty singles who are hoping to find love? What’s the catch? The men and women talk and get engaged before seeing one another in person. After a couple’s retreat and meeting each other’s families, contestants must decide at the altar whether to split up or to get married. Thus, answering the question, “Is love blind?”  

Ozark  

Starring: Jason Bateman, Laura Linney, Sofia Hublitz  

Format: Crime Drama  

Number of Episodes: 20 with a third season starting March 2020

Financial adviser Martin “Marty” Byrde (Bateman) drags his wife (Linney) and family from Chicago to the Missouri Ozarks after a scheme gone wrong. Now, he must launder $500 million in five years to appease a drug boss. Of course, this involves becoming entangled with local criminals as well.  

A Series of Unfortunate Events  

Starring: Neil Patrick Harris, Patrick Warburton, Malina Weissman  

Format: Action & Adventure

Rating: TV-PG  

This black comedy/drama is based on the children’s book series by Lemony Snicket. The show follows the misadventures of the extraordinary Baudelaire orphans as they try to outwit the evil Count Olaf (Harris) and unlock their family secrets. But… don’t expect a happy ending.  

Stranger Things  

Starring: Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown   

Format: Horror/Drama  

Number of Episodes: 25 with the fourth season in production  

Rating: TV-14  

One of Netflix’s most famous original series, Stranger Things, introduces viewers to the fictional 1980’s town of Hawkins, Indiana. The series opens with the disappearance of young Will Byers into an alternate dimension known as the Upside Down. Will’s mother, Joyce (Ryder), and the town’s police chief, Jim Hopper (Harbour), try to uncover the mysteries along with help from Will’s friends and a strange young psychokinetic girl called Eleven (Brown).
